Potential of Carica papaya Seed-Derived Bio-Coagulant to Remove Turbidity from Polluted Water Assessed through Experimental and Modeling-Based Study

It is important to develop renewable bio-coagulants treat turbid water and efficient use of these requires process optimization achieve robustness. This study was conducted optimize the coagulation using bio-coagulant deshelled Carica papaya seeds by employing response surface methodology (RSM). extracted a chemical-free solvent. The experiments were Central Composite Design (CCD). Initially, functional groups protein content analyzed. Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy analysis showed that contained OH, C=O C-O groups, which enabled become polyelectrolyte. highest efficiency obtained at dosage 196 mg/L, pH 4.0 initial turbidity 500 NTU. At optimum conditions, achieved 88% removal with corresponding 83% activity. These findings suggested have potential as promising in treating polluted water.
